i can agree. just look at guns everyone says they'll get one (myself included)
but what happens when you cant hit a barn door much less a moving zombie head
and then you waste all your ammo trying to. i think its more of the thought
that every major zombie movie and probable all zombie movies included the
survivors having a gun and not relying on other things to kill. i don't want to
be completely reliant on guns for Z-day so i am making my plans go without
them. now if i come across one and have ammo for it then i will take it but
only use it sparingly. like when i cant get up to one to kill it.

use a weapon Equal to the training you have

First - This was painful to read. Second - The difference between an exotic
weapon and a regular weapon is that you have never used one before. With time
using any weapon you will become skilled in the use of that weapon. When you
become skilled in any weapon the weapon turns from exotic into a effective
tool. Third - I will answer your problems list. Where are you going to get
them: Normally you gather exotic weapons from stores, houses of people who
collect these types of weapons, and through invention of these weapons. How old
are they: Normally this does not matter a single bit since it should be common
sense that if it is too rusty to work - don't use it. Most collectors of exotic
firearms keep their weapons cleaned and in impressive condition. How much does
it cost: Does it really matter how much anything is worth when your life is on
the line? The question you should be asking is "Would this get the job done?"
Sticking with weapons that have no moving parts is suicide. Firearms deal
greater damage and give you the advantage of distance. These types of weapons
have moving parts. So do crossbows and compound bows. Oh wait, so do pocket
knives. What a coincidence. Flails do more damage and they have a better reach,
however they use momentum as a source of power. If you don't have it constantly
in motion, you will not gain the full potential of this weapon. Crowbars are
not an effective weapon. If you want a weapon you can use right away with
limited to no training or practice, use a shovel. When you can't hit a barn
door with a firearm: When you turn 18, go to the gun range and practice. It is
not hard to find a local gun range and request to practice or get a few
lessons. Hell, save up and buy a shotgun. If my 10 year old brother can use the
weapon for the first time and be exceptional with it, then so can you.
Everything just needs practice. Seriously!

I'm just saying if you have no training with weapons such as but not limited to
sai, tonfas, throwing knives, shrunken, Lucifer's/flails ( quick fact Lucifer

The funny fact is these weapons are Simple. Nun-chucks would be another common
sense thing - they don't do much damage to people while alive, why would you
use them to destroy a zombie's brain? Morning-stars: Simplistic. Use
common sense - it looks like a bat with a larger end. Use it as such.
Flails: Hard to find a decently built one. If you are in America, you
more than likely will have to make it since most Americans do not own collect
medieval weaponry. Tonfas: Are nothing more than a cops duty issue
baton. It will do well if your in a tight spot, however it is a close quarters
weapon. Shuriken: (which I believe you meant by shrunken) This tool is
meant to kill, injure, or distract living people. This weapon is exactly the
same as throwing knives and is meant to cause bodily wounds that will cause the
living person to bleed out. With this being said, these weapons would not
assist in your objective of destroying the brain. Though these weapons are good
to have on hand in case you have a problem with Goblins. If you come across
these weapons or throwing knives, hold on to them so you can practice with them
while you have down time. It will give you something to do and eventually you
will be good enough to find a use for them. Sai: Is a defensive weapon
meant to be used with another weapon or another sai. This weapon is another one
of those "Don't use because it is for close range" weapons. Katanas:
Most Katanas you can buy are not real. In fact, I know of no black smiths that
can create a real Katana. The use of this sword is to cut downwards or upwards
at a slight angle. The battle grade Katana can slice through a humans torso
like warm butter. Though that is why I do believe there are no black smiths I
know of that can create these magnificent tools of war. This weapon takes
little training to use, however effectiveness will be limited until you have
time using it. The very basic knowledge of this weapon is - you will bleed if
you hit yourself with the sharp side. Again - what should be asked is "Can this
get the job done?" It is a tool. There are specific ways certain tools work,
but it is a matter of making the tools work for you to survive. (IE - you could
turn a sai into a makeshift bayonet.)

A baseball bat is a short ranged weapon that will not serve you if you are surrounded. Your boyish attitude tells me that your knowledge of firearms is limited, and so using a 45. magnum, with a considerable recoil associated with all pistols, would be nigh on impossible to hit a zombie. Another thing, Where would you get these weapons? The baseball bat okay, but a 45. Magnum? unless you have a licence or a relative/parent with such a weapon, you would be pretty much stuffed. |

Realistic? Being shot 50 times by a vehicle mounted machinegun operated by
facist rednecks and still surviving? Realistically speaking - you punch something - Flesh is going to give. Cuts + Infected blood = Infection. |
